Though goa is being promoted in the media as a popular tourist destination increasingly it is attracting the wrong kind of tourist. Many of the tourist are from neighbouring states and have a limited budget. So they will get food from their homes, live in the open on the beach, dirty the beach and spend very little money.
There are also many male tourists who come to goa in groups to drink and ogle at women, especially scantily clad foreign women on the beaches. When these male tourists will molest or harass these women, these women will think twice about visiting the state again.

Increasingly goa is becoming famous for drugs, drinking and paid sex, and the largely conservative local leaders are protesting against the erosion of culture, So it appears that there will be a focus on IT sector, due to the lack of control on the visitors to goa and increased competition with other countries like Sri lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, which are often far cheaper.
